Madrid presents the best trends in tourism communication at the Landing-Madrid festival

The city of Madrid will become the setting for the presentation of the most successful digital tourism communication campaigns with the celebration of the first edition of Landing-Madrid.

This event, organized by Turismo del Ayuntamiento de Madrid together with CIFFT (International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals), Terres Landscape & Travel Communication and the collaboration of Ciudad de Madrid Film Office will dedicate four days to best practices and reflection on the growing weight of audiovisual in tourism communication.

With this support, Madrid materializes its commitment to promote audiovisual production of tourism, where the city occupies a privileged place.

Last year, the video Flamenco Madrid, which promotes the attractions of the city and the annual festival Flamenco Madrid, won 17 international awards. This piece, produced by Madrid Destino, was recognized as the second best tourism video in the world and the best urban tourism video in the world.

Between January 22 and 25, Landing-Madrid will organize conferences, round tables, screenings and workshops with some of the most renowned professionals in the audiovisual tourism genre, among other activities.

Cineteca and the Conde Duque Cultural Centre, municipal spaces managed by Madrid Destino, together with Fitur and the Xperience Madrid space of B the travel brand will be the stages where experts in the use of video in tourist marketing will be paraded, such as the British Chris Torres, or personalities with a long trajectory in the sector, such as the Greek director Theo Papadoulakis.

Presence in Fitur and Gastrofestival

One of the objectives of Landing-Madrid is to generate synergies with Fitur, one of the most important fairs in the tourism sector worldwide and the one that coincides with the dates of celebration.

In fact, one of the main elements of the event will be a competition to recognize the best promotional videos of the destinations present in the stands of Fitur 2019.

In addition, Ciudad de Madrid Film Office will coordinate, within the framework of Fitur Cine, the new monographic section of this edition dedicated to film tourism, the activity Actors and communication strategies of film tourism.

It will be held on Thursday 24 January at 4:30 pm and will consist of a series of case studies on strategies for promoting film tourism.

Landing-Madrid will also join another of the major events of the month of January in Madrid, Gastrofestival. CITT and the City of Madrid Film Office

The CIFFT organizes the only competition in the world that awards the best promotional videos of the tourism industry, with festivals in 18 cities and 16 countries. Among the festivals of the CIFFT circuit is Terres Travel Festival, the only Spanish festival of the same and will develop its third edition in Tortosa (Tarragona), from 26 April to 5 May.

Ciudad de Madrid Film Office, dependent on Tourism of the Madrid City Council, is a public service of the City Council dedicated to promote the city as a shooting destination and advise all companies and professionals in the audiovisual sector who want to develop their projects there.
