WTM 2008 to Spotlight Technology and Online Travel

The World Travel Market, one of the world’s most important B2B travel events due to be held at ExCeL London from 10-13 November 2008, will be spotlighting technology and online travel. This year, the event has attracted more travel technology exhibitors than ever and will be offering the most comprehensive programme of conferences and seminars to help businesses get to grips with the latest from the digital world.

The three major conferences created by EyeforTravel will address the most pressing issues facing the industry today to provide the best strategy for the future.

Mobile Technology in Travel, the first of these conferences, is scheduled to be held on Tuesday 11 November, with speakers from Vodafone, Google, British Airways, Lufthansa, Sabre, Amadeus, Mobile Commerce and Mobile Travel Technologies. On Wednesday 12, the Travel Leadership Forum will revolve around how to boost profits in a time of economic uncertainty; how to ensure business strategy guarantees a prosperous future; and what the world’s top travel executives are focusing on today. Speakers include TripAdvisor, Sabre, lastminute.com, Travelodge and SkyEurope Airlines. Then, on Thursday 13 November, Online Content and Conversion Strategies will describe how to achieve success by upgrading business websites, with speakers from Lonely Planet, P&O Cruises, TUI, Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, EasyJet (panel), Microsoft, Cathay Pacific, SAS and VisitBritain.

A record breaking 48,111 attendees, including 10,928 trade professionals and 12,793 Meridian Club members, attended WTM 2007. There were 5,412 exhibiting companies from 197 regions and countries in total area of 42,945m2.
