Every year since 1981, the Prince of Asturias Foundation announces the Prince of Asturias Prizes, awarded in Oviedo by the Spanish heir to the throne.

On 22 October, for the 11th year running, SONO was commissioned to design the audiovisual project for the Prince of Asturias Awards Ceremony at the Campoamor Theatre, and a number of related events at the Reconquista Hotel and in Escandalera Square.

SONO installed a 22sqm Barco Dlite7 LED display, with a 12,000W sound system, outside the theatre for broadcasting the awards ceremony. Inside the theatre, a closed circuit TV system was installed, with a total of 19 monitors and a 42” plasma screen, in addition to six simultaneous translation booths, with 1.600 receivers for the guests attending the ceremony. Lastly, a closed-circuit TV system was installed at the Reconquista Hotel, with 42” and 50” plasma screens distributed throughout the property, and a 60” plasma screen in the press room from where all the official functions were broadcast.

SONO at the International Film Festival of Catalonia
The 43rd International Film Festival of Catalonia was held in Sitges from 7-17 October. The festival – the event that receives most media coverage in Catalonia – is an excellent platform for showcasing the industry’s different trends and presenting and screening films from all over the world.

As in previous editions, SONO collaborated actively in the festival as its official supplier of audiovisual equipment and services. In addition to the technical production and coordination of the festival’s opening and closing galas, the company handled the lighting and sound.
