The Palace of Music of Catalonia (Barcelona) is due to host the 2nd edition of the Auditoria and Performing Arts Centres Executive Summit 2009 from 3-4 March 2009, where the management, design and technology of these types of venues will be discussed. The first edition of this international congress for auditoria was held in London in 2007.

In this way, the Palace of Music of Catalonia reaffirms its internationalization strategy implemented on the occasion of its centenary, geared to consolidating its position as one of the world’s most important international auditoria and performing arts centres.

More than 200 specialists belonging to the world’s foremost auditoria and performing arts centres will be discussing the future challenging facing the entertainment industry.

Likewise, the congress will include 20 keynotes given by prestigious international experts, such as Ron Austin, executive director of the development project of the Lincoln Centre (EUA); David Manica, president of Manica Architecture (EUA); Denise Marsh, president of the Singapore Indoor Stadium; and Mike Adamson, director general of The O2 Dublin.

Matters to be addressed during the congress include how to redesign performing arts centres to satisfy the needs of a changing audience; how to create a new brand in the audiovisual era; how to balance the needs of the artistes with those of the audience and sponsors; and how to increase revenues in times of crisis.
