Malaga’s Trade Show and Congress Centre is all set to host the first edition of “Todo Ocio”, a leisure industry event geared to encouraging visitors’ active participation that is scheduled to be held from 13-15 June 2008.

Todo Ocio Malaga 2008 is Andalusia’s first completely interactive leisure industry trade show. Visitors will be encouraged to participate actively in the leisure activities organised by the show’s exhibitors.

The organisers of the event, with an exhibition area of 3,000m2, are expecting in the region of 100,000 visitors, 20,000 of which will be coming from all over Spain, as well as 25,000 non residents from UK, Germany and France. It is anticipated that half of the visitors will be between the ages of 15-40.

Given its specialised character, Todo Ocio constitutes a networking platform for the provincial and regional leisure industry. Over the last decade, the industry has grown exponentially, with an overall increase in the number of companies, employees, capital investment, and turnover, basically as a consequence of the industry’s constant promotion geared to increasing its competitiveness in the Spanish tourist industry.

The show aims to provide companies related to leisure, cultural and sports activities with networking opportunities, as well as disseminating the leisure industry to the public in general. There will be a full programme of activities, including exhibitions, games, competitions, sports, lucky draws, live music and theatre.

Todo Ocio has been organised to satisfy the needs of this constantly evolving industry, in consonance with current leisure trends and demands. Since leisure is becoming increasingly important, the event is keyed to showcasing the wide range of existing options to help visitors choose the best way of spending their leisure time.

Established in 2002, and with an excellent track record in the event industry, Sistemas Publicitarios, S.L. (IDDEA SP) plans to hold the show on a yearly basis. The Madrid-based company is organising the event in collaboration with Malaga City Council and the Provincial Council, among other local agencies and institutions.
