The corporate social responsibility project involves the painting of sea-related murals in the seaside towns of Almuñecar and La Herradura in the province of Granada (Andalusia).

Indigo Travel and Events, the Andalusia-based incentive programme and exclusive event specialists, are currently involved in a corporate social responsibility (CSR) project in the towns of Almuñecar and La Herradura. The chief aim of this initiative is to heighten public awareness vis-à-vis the importance of marine biodiversity in the world’s oceans and seas and, subsequently, to promote the protection of coastal and marine areas, through murals painted by national and international artists, thus creating a kind of outdoor museum.

The first three murals, painted by the well-known artists Eduardo Baquerizo (Spain), Victor Ash (Denmark), and Nena Sanchez (Curaçao, Caribbean), are now complete. Organized in collaboration with Almuñecar Town Council, another 20 artists will be participating in the project.

About "Art for All"
Before starting a project, Indigo first looks for an area in a town or city needing an injection of colour and culture. The company then invites around 30 artists from all over the world, who together transform the area in two weeks. The locals also participate in the painting of the murals and, in this way, local talent is often discovered. When finished, the "open air museums" serve to attract tourists and, consequently, new businesses are created in the area generating income for the local population, while at the same time heightening public awareness about the importance of protecting coastal and marina environments.

Indigo Travel and Events has run similar projects in four different countries.
