Hotel Occupancy on the Costa del Sol Reaches 58.90% in April

According to figures obtained by AEHCOS (Costa del Sol Hoteliers’ Association), hotel occupancy in the province of Malaga reached 58.90% in April, down 8% on figures registered for the same month last year.

In April, hotels on the Costa del Sol registered a total of 1,311,467 overnight stays, down 195,529 on figures for April 2007. An occupancy rate of 62.46% is forecast for May.

The breakdown of clients staying at hotels on the Costa del Sol during April 2008 by country of origin is as follows: United Kingdom (30.32%), Spain (29.78%), Germany (8.26%), France (6.51%), Scandinavia (4.32%), Holland (3.9%), Belgium (2.48%), Italy (2.45%), and USA (2.43%).
