The common ground shared by the two institutions as regards protocol and event organization forms the basis of the agreement.
The Escola de Protocol i Relacions Institucionals (ESPRI), represented in Tarragona by Protocol Trainer, and the Tarragona Convention Bureau, a department of the city’s Municipal Tourist Board, have signed a framework convention that will allow both institutions to carry out promotional campaigns and collaborate in the fields of protocol and event production.
The common ground shared by the two institutions as regards protocol and event organization forms the basis of the agreement: the Tarragona Convention Bureau, as a department of city’s Municipal Tourist Board, is the local agency in charge of promoting the destination and presenting bids for all kinds of events (congresses, conventions, incentive trips, product presentations, etc.), while ESPRI has a long track record as an educational centre organizing training programmes in different fields, and is represented in Tarragona by Protocol Trainer, specializing in protocol and event production.
The recently signed agreement sets out a number of lines of action focused on two training areas: theory (given by staff at TCB); and practical training (geared to students at ESPRI). So, the teaching staff at ESPRI-Protocol Trainer will give seminars to the associates of Tarragona Convention Bureau (hoteliers, agencies, service providers, etc.) with the aim of helping them professionalize their services and widen their knowledge of event organization, and the associates will be able to offer practical placements to students at ESPRI, thus providing them with an opportunity to gain professional experience and participate directly and actively in real events.
Likewise, the aim is to heighten awareness in the region about the importance of training in the meetings and event industry, through ESPRI-Protocol Trainer, as well as showcasing the city as a MICE destination, which will be the Tarragona Convention Bureau’s task.
