Bilbao's Euskalduna Congress Centre Hosts 891 Events in 2008

Bilbao's Euskalduna Congress Centre has achieved an occupancy rate of 94%, the highest since being opened 10 years ago.

Of the 515 corporate events that the congress centre hosted in 2009, 43 were congresses, 25 board and general meetings, 33 conventions and corporate events, 311 seminars and workshops, 54 social gatherings, and 40 miscellaneous events, assistance figures being in the region of 168,000. November and May were the busiest months of the year.

Likewise, 345 concerts, plays, and cultural events were held, with attendance figures in the region of 326,000.

The Euskalduna Congress Centre ended 2008 with a surplus of EUR 800,000, thus consolidating its position as one of the profitable centre in Spain, since it does need subsidies.
