PowerVote has been commissioned to supply EuroPCR, the annual congress of the European Associations for Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions (EAPCI), with its interactive audience polling system. The congress is scheduled to be held at Barcelona’s CCIB Convention Centre from 13-16 May 2008.

Twenty-one sessions, sponsored by different companies, have been programmed for this year’s edition of the congress. Thanks to the technology developed by PowerVote, speakers will be able to gauge the reactions and opinions of the 250-550 doctors that are expected to attend each session.

The choice of PowerVote is due to the fact that the company has specialised in audience polling systems for over 10 years. Furthermore, the company operates in the main countries participating in EuroPCR, above all in Spain where the congress is to be held. A team of trilingual – French, English and Spanish – experts in audience polling systems will be providing the congress organisers with technical support.

EuroPCR is currently the most important event dedicated to cardiovascular interventions in Europe. In the region of 12,000 professionals for all over the world – above all from Europe, but also from America, Asia and the Middle East – are expected to attend the congress.

Interactive audience polling systems are very popular with the medical community. Among other reasons, this is because attendees can express their opinions anonymously and compare their experiences with those of their colleagues, since results are shown in graph form. Speakers also value this type of technology since these systems provide them with immediate feedback to which they can react immediately, thus facilitating authentic debate.
