The Spanish Association of Congress Centres (APCE) and the Spanish Tourism Institute (Turespaña) have recently signed an agreement allowing for joint actions geared to drumming up MICE business abroad and promoting the member centres of APCE as event venues.

The signing of this agreement will facilitate a series of jointly funded promotional and marketing actions in international markets, with the aim of showcasing Spain as an international MICE destination so as to attract new demand segments.

The actions planned until the end of 2010 will centre on stimulating the use of online marketing tools, increasing the online presence of Spain’s MICE destinations, and positioning the country in this market.

In the words of Jose Salinas, president of APCE and director general of the Congress Centre of Valencia, "The signing of this agreement with Turespaña will undoubtedly allow all the actors involved to maximize the ROIs of international marketing campaigns, in addition to consolidating the association as one the main actors in Spain’s business tourism industry and allowing us to market our member centres abroad under one brand."
