In a ceremony held at La Malagueta Bullring in Malaga on 18 June 2008, the Association of Inland Tourism of Malaga (TURIMA) awarded Antequera Golf its Quality Tourism Prize. Antequera Golf’s general manager Eduardo Ferre and its quality control manager Lourdes Artacho were presented with the award by Francisca Montiel, the regional government’s general manager of quality control.
The award, reflecting the importance Antequera Golf gives to service quality, comes after the Q for Quality Tourism Award the hotel received from the Spanish Institute for Quality Tourism (ICTE) two years ago, and the ISO 9001 quality system standard and the ISO 14001 environmental management system standard awarded by Bureau Veritas, making it one of the few tourist resorts to have obtained these three certificates.
Likewise it endorse the two awards the hotel has received recently from Malaga University and Antequera Sports Board for promoting golf in Antequera and organising the Spanish University Golf Tournament, as well as the World Golf University Golf Tournament, scheduled to be held in 2010.
