Unitours Maroc Bills New Experiences for 2011

Unitours Maroc is all set to offer new venues, restaurants, attractions and activities in 2011, when the Marrakech-based event and incentive agency will be celebrating its 30th anniversary.

New hotels, venues and restaurants, authentic Gnawa music and Berber folklore shows, themed 4x4 itineraries and other outdoor activities are just some of the new features Unitours Maroc will be offering its corporate clients in 2011.

"In a competitive industry such as ours," says Paula Breton, Unitours Maroc’s managing director, "we’ve always got to be on the lookout for new experiences to offer our clients."

With the fastest growing hospitality industry in Morocco, not a month goes by without the opening of a new hotel or restaurant in Marrakech. "Secret Gardens, belonging to Palmeraie Hotels and Resorts, comprising 23 600sqm luxury villas, with their own butler, staff and spa, and Hotel du Golf, Palmeraie Resorts’ new 315-room property, located just behind the International Conference Centre of Palmeraie (CICP), are two of the most outstanding new hotels that have opened at the end of the year," says Breton. "As to restaurants, the recently reopened Les Jardins de Bagatelle, in the style of a traditional French brasserie, and Le Chat Qui Rit, an eatery serving excellent Mediterranean cuisine, are both excellent choices for delegates looking for something special on their free night."

A trip to Marrakech, whether for business or pleasure, would not be complete without a spot of local entertainment. "Every Thursday and Friday at the Zaouia Al Mizhar, visitors can now experience the mysticism of a real Gnawa ceremony. In addition, through our partnership with Kamar Studios, based in Marrakech and New York, we can create synergies between authentic Moroccan music and our clients’ marketing or communication needs, creating a unique sound design for each event, be it a meeting, incentive of private celebration."

For those looking for something less mystical but equally traditional, Unitours organizes dinners with Berber folklore shows at Al Kasbah in the Palm Grove of Marrakech, some nine kilometers from the centre of town, complete with Moroccan horsemen.

"For 2011, we’ve also designed a new, full day 4x4 tour, as well as a number of themed itineraries – gourmet, fashion, antics and beauty – for discovering the souks in the area," concludes Breton. "Nevertheless, our forte is the design of à la carte programs at competitive prices for groups and events of all sizes, from exclusive CEO meetings in secluded and peaceful villas or Riads to large conference for launching new products or presenting new techniques."

CSR is also an important feature of the company’s strategies. "Unitours is proud to have put into practice a number of projects for several clients, aimed at helping local associations improve the daily life of disabled school children in Marrakech and the Atlas region to the south. There’s still a lot to be done, so clients wanting to include CRS initiatives in their event program are more than welcome."
