Forty Seconds of Networking to Generate Business
27/01/2010 - PromediaNowadays, business initiative and, above all, imagination are becoming increasingly more important. One such initiative is the organization of the first Zoom Speed Networking event by a group of Seville entrepreneurs, which was held on 26 January at the Vertice Aljarafe Hotel.
Zoom Speed Networking is a novel way of generating business leads in record time. The participants meet a large number of their peers to whom they have 40 seconds to present their businesses and services. There is a mediator to control contact times and ensure that the event is fun, but runs smoothly. So as to concentrate so much information in such a short period, all that is needed is a fistful of business cards and good communication skills.
Networking is a way of generating leads and business opportunities. The idea is to create a network of contacts through which to collect information, look for clients and suppliers, or start up new businesses.
One could go as far as saying that networking is bringing about social changes in our business culture. In today’s conventions, meetings and talks, it is normal to programme a few minutes so that the attendees can network. What was known before as a “coffee break” is now an opportunity to do business and forge professional links.
There are many examples of companies whose strength lies in networking, through which they attract a large number of new clients. By creating a network of contacts and using them for support, it is easy for companies and professionals to make showcase their products and/or services and also receive information on those that might interest them.
This non-profit event was organized by Mario Garrido of Promedia Medios Audiovisuales, in collaboration with the creative studio The Team and Vertice Aljarafe Hotel.
