The Malaga Tradeshow and Congress Centre (FYCMA) will be hosting a number of major national congresses in the second half of 2012, which will be attended by experts in a variety of fields, including medicine, energy, law, tourism and business.
The venue’s event agenda features the 34th National Congress of the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians (Semergen), scheduled to be held from 26-29 September, which is expected to be attended by around 6,000 delegates. This event will include a broad programme of scientific activities with the aim of satisfying the educational needs of general practitioners, thus helping them to address everyday problems, while focusing on the care needs of chronic patients.
To this end, delegates will be able to participate in over 70 workshops that will allow them to acquire a series of specific skills as regards the treatment of pathologies requiring infiltrations, radiology and minor surgery, among others.
Moreover, it is important to mention that it is one of the most important congresses held to date in Malaga. According to the data with which Meeting Professionals International has provided Malaga City Council, obtained using the criteria established by the Spain Convention Bureau (SCB), the event will have an economic impact for the city of over €9 million.
Following this congress, FYCMA will host the 49th Congress of the Spanish Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SECOT 2012), a forum for professionals involved in different fields of medical traumatology. Scheduled to be held from 3-5 October, the programme will include educational sessions, roundtable discussions, conferences, and an exhibition area.
Likewise, the 8th Congress of Malaga Lawyers, regarded as one of the most important national events of its kind, will be held from 18-19 October. There were 900 delegates and 50 keynote speakers at last year’s edition, and this year attendance figures are expected to be higher. Before the congress, from 10-11 October, FYCMA will host the 7th Modernization and Quality Seminars, organized by Malaga City Council and the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP).
Lastly, at the end of October, it will be the turn of the 9th Tourism and Information and Communication Technologies Congress, organized by the Faculty of Tourism of Malaga University (UMA). The congress’ main aim is to promote experience and knowledge exchange in the fields of information systems and communication technologies applied to the tourist industry. To this end, the congress will be attended by university researchers and trade professionals from the public and private sectors.
Another major event on the agenda is the 20th edition of the seminars organized by the National Association of Environmental Enterprises (ANEPMA), which will congregate 200 attendees and 30 leading companies in the fields of efficiency and sustainability from 7-9 November. Finally, the congress centre is the venue chosen for holding the congress Andalucía Management, addressing the most innovative aspects of strategic business areas such as marketing, innovation and new communication channels.
