The ESMO will be holding its World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer at the International Convention Centre of Barcelona (CCIB) for the eighth year running.
The International Convention Centre of Barcelona (CCIB) will host more than 3,500 medical specialists at the World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer, the world’s top oncology event which is scheduled to be held from 27-30 June.
Organized by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Europe’s main organization committed to medical advances in the field or oncology, this 14th edition will include the keynote addresses of over 70 experts from Europe, Asia and USA.
The ESMO has again chosen CCIB as the congress venue, as it has done since 2005. The fact that CCIB will be hosting the event for the eighth year running highlights its excellence as a congress centre and justifies, in part, the fact that it has been regarded as one of the best in the world on numerous occasions.
The aim of the congress is to promote the continuous updating and exchange of knowledge between professionals, although its real raison d’être is none other than that of improving the quality of life of patients, as well as searching for the final solution for any type of gastrointestinal cancer.
Precisely for this reason, sessions will revolve around two basic issues: on the one hand, scientific research and, on the other, medical therapies employed to treat patients with diseases such as pancreatic, bilious tract, gallbladder, esophageal, rectal or liver cancer, or those suffering from gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours, among others.
CCIB to host more than 3,500 oncologists
In addition to the World Congress on Gastrointestinal Cancer and the important events held at the venue during the first quarter, this year CCIB will also be hosting other outstanding international medical congresses, including the conference of the European Association of Cancer Research", the 34th European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism Congress, the International Conference on Pharmacoepidemiology and Therapeutic Risk Management, the 26th European Association of Cardiothoracic Surgery Conference, and the European Federation of Neuroscience Societies Congress.
