After the successful 2nd European Federation for Farm and Village Tourism Congress held at Yalta (Ukraine) in 2005, the Hungarian town of Eger, home of the world famous Bull’s Blood Wine, will be hosting the 3rd EuroGites Congress from 27-28 September 2007.
Keynote speakers The Congress, jointly organised by the Hungarian Federation of Rural Tourism and EuroGites, will include an excellent scientific programme, with well-known keynote speakers, including Bernard Lane, Graham McKenzie from TravelMole and Ladislav Miko from DG Environment European Commission, who will discuss trends in rural tourism, sustainability, the Internet and online booking and other current themes.
At the end of the congress, an Official Statement on the Challenges and Strategies for Rural Tourism in Europe, providing the sector with basic guidelines for the future, will be issued and signed.
About EuroGites The European Federation of Farm and Village Tourism (EuroGites) represents 29 professional and trade organisations from 24 countries of geographical Europe, with an overall number of 180,000 establishments with about two million bed-spaces, including rural Bed and Breakfasts, self-catering in private homes or farms, small family-run rural hotels and guesthouses. Synergy 2007 Synergy 2007, the second conference on training in rural tourism organised by the Rural Tourism International – Training Network (RTI-TN), will be held at Fuzesgyarmat (Hungary) from 25-26 September, prior to the 3rd EuroGites Congress. The overall objective of this conference, which is a follow-up to the first conference hosted by Coin (Spain) in 2003, is to establish co-operation and synergy in rural tourism training and curricula and to make results of past and present EU rural tourism training projects available to the whole sector in Europe.
