General description

Declared a National Monument, the Hospital of Santiago, which Eugenio D’Ors referred to as the “Andalusian Escorial”, was built by the Spaniard Andres de Vandelvira, one of the most outstanding Renaissance architects. It is regarded as the cultural centre of the Ubeda, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. All year round, it plays host to a large number of art exhibitions, both big and small, and many are the associations, institutions, and cultural and artistic organisations that choose it as the venue for their cultural events, corporate events, shows, exhibitions, congresses and meetings. Owing to the variety and spaciousness of its facilities, it is an ideal venue for all types of regional, national and international events.
