With an area of 100,000sqm including the Convention Centre and the Auditorium, the centre can accommodate up to 15,000 delegates. It stands out for both the versatility of its column-free interior spaces, all with natural light and equipped with the latest technology, and for making available to its customers a wide range of high quality services that enable the successful organization of events of all kinds.
Since its opening, the CCIB has hosted more than 527 events resulting in more than 750,000 delegates. It has been the scene of major national and international events such as the Euro-Mediterranean Summit of Heads of State, the World Conservation Congress (IUCN), the TVE 50th Anniversary Gala, the Congress of Cardiology Euro PCR. and in 2011 the United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW), with 14,000 delegates, the largest number of attendees to date.
The CCIB has recently been awarded bronze by C&IT magazine for Best Convention Centre, which adds to other awards obtained in 2008 such as the silver obtained for Best International Convention Centre given by the British magazine M&IT, and the a AIPC award for Best Technologically Equipped Convention Centre in the world in 2007 among other awards.
