Font size A-A+From 30 October-2 November, Seville will be hosting the world’s most important event specialising in traditional, roots, ethnic and international music. WOMEX – The World Music Expo is a unique opportunity to learn everything about these musical genres, attend a large number of concerts, and exchange new ideas. Likewise, the event affords delegates the opportunity to generate new leads and business, as well as getting to know firsthand present trends in the international music industry.
At WOMEX Seville 08, activities have been programmed during the day and night. Daytime activities will take place at the FIBES Exhibition and Congress Centre, the event’s hub where the tradeshow will be held and delegates can network. In addition, there will be a parallel programme consisting of conferences, film screenings, daycases, and the WOMEX radio and TV studio.
For evening activities, two marquees will be erected in the Plaza de España and another – called offWOMEX – next to the Casino de la Exposición, where emerging and internationally recognized artistes will perform in 25 concerts.
At the last edition of Womex Seville 07 there were 2,800 delegates and 1,400 companies from more than 90 countries, a number that the organizers hope to surpass in 2008 given past trends in attendance figures. After this fourth consecutive edition, WOMEX will be moving to Copenhagen.
FIBES acogerá del 19 al 21 de noviembre de 2008 la III edición de Mercartes El Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Sevilla (FIBES) albergará entre los días 19 y 21 de noviembre la tercera edición del Mercado de las Artes Escénicas, Mercartes. La feria, que está organizada por la Red de Teatros, Auditorios, Circuitos y Festivales de Titularidad Pública, la Federación Estatal de Asociaciones de Empresas de Teatro y Danza, la Coordinadora de de Ferias de las Artes Escénicas del Estado Español y FIBES, pretende superar la cifra de 700 profesionales acreditados que logró en la pasada edición de 2006. De este modo, Mercartes aspira a consolidarse como el principal mercado de las artes escénicas del estado, una feria bienal que reúna a todo el sector y proyecte su trabajo a nivel internacional.
El Mercado de las Artes Escénicas, Mercartes, es un evento profesional que sirve de escaparate a la realidad del sector en España a través de un foro en el que se den cita los distintos agentes públicos y privados que participan en la actividad económica de las artes escénicas: creación, producción, distribución, exhibición y promoción. En definitiva, se trata de una feria que promueve los intercambios comerciales y facilita el desarrollo de las artes escénicas en España.
