Font size A-A+From 28-30 November 2008, Malaga’s Trade Show and Congress Centre will be hosting for the second year running “Celebra Málaga”, a wedding and celebration trade show, which after the success of the first edition has become a yardstick for the social event industry.
“Celebra Málaga” started out as a show geared to the event industry as a whole. Exhibitors include event planners, catering companies, marquee rental firms, entertainment agencies, music and lighting service providers, companies specialising in décor, gifts and wedding lists, party and wedding dress retailers, transport companies, and photography and video services, among others.
Once again, “Celebra Málaga” will have a parallel programme of activities and experiences to show visitors the latest trends in the industry. One of the previous edition’s most important features was the wedding dress and bridal gown show, in which Antonio Ardon, Elio Berhanyer and Petro Valverde – three of Spain’s most outstanding haute couture designers – exhibited their collections. In addition, top professionals gave live make-up and hairdressing demonstrations, which will be repeated at the coming edition.
At the year’s show, the organisers intend to include exhibitors from different sectors of the event industry, covering birthday parties, christenings and business meals, as well weddings.
Activities programmed for the general public will include food tasting, specific workshops, musical performances and lucky draws. In 2007, many of the exhibiting companies conducted lucky draws – prizes including a wedding dress and ten weekend breaks at a hotel – gave away gift cheques, and offered visitors discounts.
Eighty-four companies showcased their products and services at the 1st edition of “Celebra Málaga”, which attracted more than 4,400 visitors during its three-day duration. Both trade professionals and the general public praised the variety and quality of the services and products on offer.
