Before the event, a series of e-mails were sent to the participants to create an atmosphere of intrigue, allowing them to discover what was waiting for them in Malaga bit by bit. This served as a source of motivation essential so as to stress the values and messages transmitted by the company during the convention’s morning sessions. The enemy to be defeated was not Xerxes I’s Persian hordes but the company’s competitors; the battle was not that of Thermopolis but the daily struggle throughout the coming year; and the victory did not of course mean the sacrifice of the 300 but achieving the objectives established for 2008.
To prepare the 300 for these challenges, King Leonidas himself gave a harangue, followed by an exhibition of hand-to-hand combat, after which there were a number activities each designed to develop certain skills directly related to the company’s values and philosophy, as well as military tactics and sports of Ancient Greece.

A special prize for the best team costumes, teams made up of members belonging to the company’s different branches in Spain, inventing a distinctive war cry with strong corporate undertones for each activity, and a team of professionals portraying Spartans warriors were just some of tactics used to fulfil the event’s objectives: to develop a strong sense of belonging to the company, to stress the company’s values and philosophy, and to provide the participants with an unforgettable afternoon of fun.
