FITC & CityBreak’09 to Include Job Interview Workshop to Boost Employment in Tourism Industry The 6th edition of the International Cultural Tourism and City Break Fair (FITC & CityBreak’09), scheduled to be held at Malaga’s Tradeshow and Congress Centre from 17-20 September 2009, has adapted its programme to the current socioeconomic situation with the incorporation of a job interview workshop where companies operating in the tourism industry can meet candidates with the right profile.

Boosting employment in the industry will be one of the central aims of the 6th edition of the International Cultural Tourism and City Break Fair, which will include a workshop allowing around 30 companies to interview approximately 100 preselected candidates.

This workshop will be held on Friday 18 September, in collaboration with the portal Turijobs, one of the leading online tourism industry employment exchanges in Spain. The workshop will be attended by human resource managers of national hotel chains and travel agency industries, among others.

The fair’s professional programme will also include a series of roundtables in which prestigious professional from both the public and private sectors will address the challenges and trends of city and cultural tourism so as to establish strategies more in line with current needs. Keynotes will revolve around the role of the hotel industry and online marketing, and the industry’s leading destinations and success stories will be analyzed.

Besides the exposition area, Andalusian retail travel agencies will be showcasing different types of breaks to suit all budgets in “Escápate”, an area open to the general public.

In this way, the organizers of FITC & CityBreak’09 aim to diversify the event’s programme further, adapting it to the needs and circumstances of the general public looking for new leisure alternatives in line with the current trend of making several short trips to city and cultural destinations throughout the year.

During the four-day event, both the general public and trade professionals will have access to a wide range of services and products, including tour operators, travel agencies, transport, low-cost airlines, cultural tours, museums, music festivals and all types of multitudinous events, funfairs and theme parks, weekend break packages, and growth segments such as wine and food tourism.
